With the spring selling season underway, livestock producers can access of suite of online resources to ensure they meet the requirements of Australia’s red meat integrity system when buying and selling stock.

LPA NVD

The Livestock Production Assurance National Vendor Declaration (LPA NVD) communicates the food safety and treatment status of every animal every time it moves along the value chain – between properties, to saleyards, or to processors.

With the release of updated versions of LPA NVDs for all species in July, identified by version number 0720, the online resources include ‘how-to’ guides for completing LPA NVDs for all species including cattle, EU cattle, sheep and lamb, goats, and bobby calves.

A new animation explaining how to correctly complete an NVD has also been released.

eNVD

LPA accredited producers, feedlots and value chain stakeholders can also save time and complete LPA NVDs online using the mobile-friendly, user-centric electronic National Vendor Declaration (eNVD) system.

The eNVD is not just an NVD – it’s a system for completing all consignment paper work digitally including livestock assurance and health declarations.

It features time-saving templates, meaning that if a producer is consigning livestock of the same type, or to the same destination, or with all the same forms on a regular basis, they can use a template to avoid filling in the same information over and over again.

Producers can access the LPA eNVD system by logging in to the LPA service centre using their LPA credentials (LPA PIC, User ID and Password) to start creating consignments. The eNVD ‘how-to’ animation provides first time users with a succinct overview of how to create an eNVD.

A number of short animations, outlining the many benefits of the eNVD are currently being released. Check them out on our Facebook page over the coming weeks.

Stand By What You Sell webinar resources

ISC recently partnered with industry stakeholders to host the Stand By What You Sell webinar series, designed to help everyone in the livestock industry understand the elements of Australia’s red meat integrity system.

The webinars covered:

  • changes to LPA NVDs
  • how to start using the eNVD system
  • accreditation and audits for LPA
  • transfers and reconciliations for the NLIS
  • linking all integrity accounts in one place using myMLA.

Recordings of the webinars are available to view here.

Producers can also access resources to support seasonal on-farm decision making with the launch of a ‘spring hub’ on Meat & Livestock Australia’s (MLA) website.

MLA’s genetics hub also provides producers with a one-stop-shop of tools and resources, aimed at demystifying genetics and breeding values, to help them start using breeding values in their bull and ram buying decisions.
