CEO Message December

22 December 2024
-Min Read

With 2024 nearly wrapped up, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy festive season and also remind our sheep and goat producers that electronic identification (eID) will take effect from 1 January 2025.

eID help available

ISC’s sheep and goat eID webpage has information and resources to help you navigate the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) database and purchase devices so you can ensure you’re NLIS-ready.

Calling SA sheep and goat producer groups

South Australia’s eID Advantage Program is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) from regionally based Producer Groups wanting to help upskill producers and support the implementation of mandatory eID for sheep and farmed goats. Grants of up to $20,000 are available to cover activities such as workshops, expert speakers and field study travel costs. Interested Producer Groups should read the EOI Grant Guidelines for details.

The program is run by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) in collaboration with ISC, Australian Wool Innovation and Livestock SA. Applications close at 5pm on 12 February 2025 and more detail is available on the PIRSA website.

Not located in South Australia but keen to get involved in similar programs? Email gsherring@integritysystems.com.au to learn about future opportunities with eID, NLIS, eNVD and more.

HRG accreditation – tag-free pathway

Harvested Rangeland Goat (HRG) owners or registered goat depots can continue to make mob-based movements in the NLIS by completing the new LPA HRG module and receiving accreditation from the relevant state or territory government.

The new HRG NVD will be available via the eNVD system from 1 January and the paper books can be ordered via the website.

Goat NVD changes

The existing Goat NVD has been updated to remove reference to HRGs and tag-free movements. These NVDs can be used when moving managed goats from 1 January 2025, however, please note that the existing NVD (version # G0720) will be invalid from 1 July 2025.

We ran a goat-focused webinar in November covering these changes. If you missed it, you can watch it here.

Continuing to deliver

I’m pleased to share an article in this issue which recognises ISC’s many achievements throughout the past year. This great work will continue when we return in 2025.

Holiday support

The ISC Customer Service team can be contacted throughout the Christmas break by emailing info@integritysystems.com.au or calling 1800 683 111. The team is available between 8am and 7pm (AEST) Monday to Friday and between 9am and 5pm on weekends (except for the public holidays).

You can also follow ISC’s Twitter account and Facebook page for additional news and updates over the holidays.

I hope you enjoy a safe and happy Christmas break with your families, and I look forward to sharing more news with you in 2025.

Kind regards
