Welcome to the first Integrity Matters of 2025. I wanted to begin by sharing this fantastic new video outlining Integrity Systems Company's role in maintaining and enhancing Australia’s red meat Integrity System.

The video highlights the critical role our integrity systems play in providing assurance to our global trading partners that Australian Red Meat is produced to the highest standard. I hope you’ll find time to watch it and share it across your networks.

NLIS Database Uplift Project

Progress on the NLIS Database Uplift continues apace, with a raft of consultations occurring throughout February to ensure stakeholders are kept updated on progress.

The new Developer Portal is now live, providing a centralised resource that enables third-party integrators to access technical documentation and support the NLIS Uplift API services.

This is a significant development as the Portal’s launch marks the first official release from the NLIS Database Uplift Project. Reaching this point would not have been possible without the insights and feedback received from our reference groups and end user focus groups, or the hard work and commitment of our project team.

Mandatory tagging

As our sheep and goat producers will be aware, electronic identification is now mandatory for all sheep and farmed goats born since 1 January. If you are looking for any future guidance to assist you with implementing the change, please refer to ISC's sheep and goat eID pages.

Anticipating the demand expected to flow on from the new eID requirements, our team successfully completed a substantial upgrade of the NLIS system’s capacity late last year and I’m pleased to say we've experienced no issues handling the increased data needs of sheep and goat eID.

Upcoming events

ISC’s Quality, Policy and Compliance Manager, Elizabeth Bradley, will be onsite at the upcoming Broome BeefUp (4-5 March) where she’ll present on the Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program and new European Union Deforestation Regulations (EUDR) due to come into effect at the end of the year. If you are in the Broome region and EUCAS accredited or simply interested in familiarising yourself with the demands of the EU market, I’d encourage you to attend.

This year's Wilmot Field day will be held in Hernani, NSW on 26-27 February. Members of the ISC team will be in attendance, ready to listen to your feedback or answer any questions.

I look forward to sharing more news with you next month. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this edition of Integrity Matters.

Regards,

Jo Quigley
