Improved eNVD access for transporters

-Min Read

Livestock transporters play a key role in Australia’s integrity system and with the new features in the electronic National Vendor Declaration (eNVD) app and web-based system they’ll find using digital consignments easier, more accessible and convenient.

The new features mean transporters or transport companies can now access the eNVD web-based system, add or remove drivers from consignments, add and view comments on consignments and easily share consignments.

Video guides to help transporters use the new features

In this series of videos, Wade Lewis, an experienced livestock transporter and eNVD champion, explains the new features and why they will be useful for transporters. The videos provide a step-by-step guide to using the web-based system and setting up a myMLA account.

1. Adding a transporter to the consignment

Until now, only the producer could add a transporter to a consignment, but this new feature allows transporters to add additional transporters to the process.

2. Sharing a PDF by text or email

When connected to the internet, transporters can now share a PDF of the consignment by text or email. This is especially useful for producers and transporters during standard “from A to B” movements as no eNVD login is required to receive a consignment via email or text.

3. Adding comments to a consignment

Using the eNVD web-based system or mobile app, transporters can add comments which anyone with access to that consignment will be able to read. This improves communication across the chain by enabling transporters to report details such as where livestock were left at a saleyard or abattoir, or if there are discrepancies in livestock headcount between loading and unloading. This information can be left in the comments section without triggering a notification to users.

4. Using the eNVD web-based system

eNVDs can be created without mobile reception or a wi-fi connection, and the aligned app and web-based systems now mean that all data will automatically sync across both platforms once connected to the internet.

5. Registering for a myMLA account

To complete your eNVD user profile you must first create a myMLA account.

How to create and link your myMLA accounts

Before you do anything, sign-up for a myMLA account. When a myMLA registered email is used, consignments will appear in your eNVD account on either the web or the app. This streamlines the handover process and ensures you can pick up the livestock without needing to meet the producer at the yards.
